Why Is My Smart Thermostat Not Connecting to Wi-Fi?

Most smart thermostats drop Wi‑Fi because of a weak signal, wrong network or password, or a 5 GHz-only connection. Firmware, router settings, or wiring/power issues can also interrupt pairing. We install and calibrate smart and programmable thermostats, and we support popular models like Ecobee during setup and maintenance.

Quick checks:

  • Confirm the correct SSID and password.
  • Use 2.4 GHz if the thermostat doesn’t support 5 GHz.
  • Reboot router and thermostat.
  • Move/boost Wi‑Fi signal or add an extender.
  • Update router and thermostat firmware.
  • Disable MAC filtering; enable DHCP.
  • Verify C‑wire/power.
